JA BizTown is an indoor center that contains a mini city with up to 23 public and private businesses. Before visiting JA BizTown, students complete a pre-visit curriculum program where they learn basic economic principles such as how to manage their personal bank account.

Volunteer Recruitment: JA BizTown requires a minimum of 22 adult volunteers to successfully run the Village on student visit days. Your school is responsible for securing a minimum of 1 adult volunteer for each business your school will be operating. A maximum of 28 parent volunteers is permitted.

By 2000, Junior Achievement was implementing JA Finance Park, an experiential program that lets middle school students make adult financial decisions in life-like simulations. The Donald O. Schnuck JA BizTown is a mini-city in which kids discover how the “real world” works. Each day, about 100 fourth – sixth graders become JA BizTown “citizens” where they work in one of 17 businesses, make financial decisions, pay taxes, and donate to charity.
