Why is current not used up in a series circuit?

Current is not used up If you put more lamps into a series circuit, the lamps will be dimmer than before because less current will flow through them. This means that the current is the same everywhere in a series circuit, even if it has lots of lamps or other components.

How does electricity get used up?

The power that they transfer gets dissipated as heat (wasted), light (e.g. display), kinetic energy (e.g. speaker), and so forth. Electricity doesn’t get used, instead energy is transferred using electrons. It is the energy that you are using.
