Where is the verb in a question?
In statements, the usual sentence structure is subject + verb. Questions, however, are arranged a little differently. In a question, at least part of the verb comes before the subject.
Can I use question as a verb?

How do you form a subject question?
We don’t know the person or thing who performed the action, and we want to find out. This type of question is called a subject question, and subject questions do NOT use the auxiliary verbs do, does, and did. What is a subject question?
Subject questions are questions we ask when we want information about the subject of something. The subject of a sentence is the person or thing that performs the action. Subject questions follow the same subject-verb structure as statements.
What form of the verb is used in the reported speech if the verb in the direct speech is in the present tense?
In reported speech we need to use the past tense form of the verb. In direct speech the present tense is used. As you can see, in the above sentence ‘am’ changes to ‘was’ when we use reported speech.
