It all started with a YouTube video posted by King Imprint titled “New Dance #Whip” in the summer of 2014, although the dance premiered in Atlanta in the early 2000s. The group posted a video on YouTube in 2013 with a song to go with it, “Drop That #naenae.” The dance was inspired by Shanehneh from the TV show Martin.
