What is included in fresh produce?

Fresh produce means fruits and vegetables that have not been processed in any manner. This term does not include such items as nuts, herbs, popcorn, vegetable plants/seedlings, dried beans/peas, seeds/grains, and flowers.

What is fresh product?

For vegetables and fruits, this means that they have been recently harvested and treated properly postharvest; for meat, it has recently been slaughtered and butchered; for fish, it has been recently caught or harvested and kept cold. Dairy products are fresh and will spoil quickly.
