Do 350 heads fit 305?
Virtually any 350 heads will work on a 305. The high compression 350 heads are similiar in combustion chamber size & intake valve size to the 305 heads & will give a 305 the same performance as if using 305 heads.
Can you stroke a 305 Chevy engine?
The 305 uses a tiny 3.736-inch bore and the same 3.48-inch stroke as the 350ci motor. While it’s relatively easy to drop a 3.75-inch stroke crank in a 305 block to create a 0.030-over stroker that displaces 334 inches, it’s just not a great performance decision for several reasons.
How much horsepower does a 305 crate engine have?
The V8 305 motor for sale has a bore of 3.736 inches and a stroke of 3.48 inches. The horsepower produced by the engine ranges from 130 hp to 230 horsepower depending on which type of variant of the engine is being used.
Are all SBC interchangeable?
All SBC gen I and Gen II heads will bolt onto the block. The LT1 and 4 heads are set up for reverse coolant flow(i.e. the water goes from the heads then through the block) so those aren’t what you want to use. The center bolt non-vortec heads(87-96) use a slightly different intake manifold.
Are engine heads interchangeable?
Stamped on the intake side, they are numbers. Some V-6 and V-8 engines have cylinder heads that are interchangeable for the left and right sides. However, many V-6 and V-8 engines have cylinder heads that must be installed on a specific side of the engine.
Are 305 and 350 pistons the same?
The 350 crank with a 305 rod-piston is not a problem. No balancing required for a stock piston or cast replacement. The 305 crank is the nastiest piece of junk that is associated with Small Blocks IMHO. 305-350 cast cranks were the same casting number and the only difference was the factory balancing.
