Stents are flexible and you can continue with your activities as normal, however, the side effects from the stent might make you feel tired and uncomfortable. It is safe to travel with a ureteric stent, however, you might find holidays less enjoyable if you are having a lot of symptoms.
Can you go in a hot tub with a ureteral stent?
If you have a string on the stent, please be careful when showering not to dislodge or pull on the string. Do not take tub baths until the stent has been removed.
Can you drink alcohol with ureteral stent?
You can drink alcohol in moderation, but this may interfere with some of your medications; please check with your doctor if you are taking any tablets. Drinking plenty of fluids cuts down the risk of infections and will reduce the amount of blood in your urine.

Up to 3 months, and depending on if the growth will be removed, a stent can be left in place for years. However, stents must be changed on a regular basis of every 3-4 months.

You may return to your normal diet immediately. You can continue to exercise whilst you have the stent in place. You may experience pain and discomfort in the kidney area and see blood in your urine. This may happen after strenuous exercise due to irritation caused by the stent. You can continue to work normally.

What happens after a ureteral stent is placed?
After the procedure, urine may flow better from your kidneys to your bladder. A ureteral stent may be left in place for several days or for as long as several months. Your doctor will take it out when you no longer need it.
How long does blood in urine last after a stent placement?
You may have a small amount of blood in your urine for 1 to 3 days after the procedure. While the stent is in place, you may have to urinate more often, feel a sudden need to urinate, or feel like you cannot completely empty your bladder.
Can you work out with a stent in your kidney?
Activity. Most people are able to return to work the day after the procedure. If your work requires intense activity, you may feel pain in your kidney area or get tired easily. If this happens, you may need to do less strenuous activities while the stent is in.
Can you feel a heart stent in your bladder?
Many patients do feel the stent. Most commonly there is bladder irritation, typically causing frequent and / or uncomfortable urination. Some patients experience pain in the kidney during urination when there is a stent in place. There can be urinary tract infections associated with the stent.
