How is grade point average calculated?
To calculate G.P.A. for one term:
- Multiply the point value of the letter grade by the number of credit hours.
- Total the credit hours for the term.
- Total the quality points for the term.
- Divide the total quality points by the total credit hours.
- The result is the G.P.A. for the term.
What is it called when you take a college class for no credit?

What happens if you audit a class?
If you audit a class, you take it for no credit, and do not have to do the assignments or take tests. You still attend the class, learn from lectures, and have access to textbooks, the instructor and learning materials. You will also be asked to pay for the course as if you were taking it for credit.
