What organisms are on the Moon?
As part of the Apollo 12 mission, the camera from the Surveyor 3 probe was brought back from the Moon to Earth. On analyzing the camera it was found that the common bacterium Streptococcus mitis was alive on the camera.
Are Tardigrades still alive?
Tardigrades have survived all five mass extinctions due to their plethora of survival characteristics, including the ability to survive situations that would be fatal to almost all other animals (see the next section).
Is the Moon only white?
Despite appearances, the Moon is not entirely devoid of colour. Apollo astronauts described its colour as ‘brownish’. Careful study shows that the dark areas, or ‘maria’, display hints of blue or brown while the highland areas have faint traces of yellow, pink and pale blue.
Why is moon white?
When the Moon is low in the sky, you’re seeing its light go through the most atmosphere. Light on the blue end of the spectrum is scattered away, while the red light isn’t scattered. During the day, the Moon has to compete with sunlight, which is also being scattered by the atmosphere, so it looks white.

Which animal went to moon first?
The first animals to orbit the moon and return to Earth were two Russian tortoises aboard Zond 5. On 15 September 1968, the tortoises were launched with plants, seeds and bacteria around the moon and returned to Earth seven days later.

Their life is not really known, however, tardigrades are able to stop their metabolism and become immortal (state cryptobiosis). Tardigrades were found in an ice sheet 2,000 years and came back to life. This form of resistance allows it to suspend time, but also to survive extreme temperatures.
Why is moon yellow?
