I decided to do a little write up on how to install the polyurethane steering rack bushings on the 2000-2006 Tundras. I didn’t search around to see if there was another write up but hey, the more how-to’s the better. This is a fairly easy job, takes about an hour to do and minimal tools are required.

Do you need an alignment after replacing steering rack bushings?

You dont really need alignment. You wheels are aligned and still will drive the way before the rack work but your rack is not fully centered. Its off a spline or two which is not bad. If its way off you can break the clockspring and is a super PITA to install.
