Can you transfer from FCS to FBS?

158 FCS players have transferred to the FBS for the 2021 season. Around 100 FCS players transferred to the FBS for the 2020 season. That’s triple the number of FCS-to-FBS transfers in 2019, although COVID postponing the 2020 fall FCS season was a big reason for the high number of transfers.

Do you have to sit out if you transfer from FCS to FBS?

The only exception I can find to the rule is that the Graduate Transfer Rule trumps it – so if the players have graduated from the FCS school then they don’t have to sit out a year (as was the case of the kid that went from Eastern Washington to Oregon).

Can FCS teams play FBS?
